Ambulatory Surgery Center

The Cardiac & Vascular Institute physicians perform a variety of cardiovascular procedures at our freestanding, state‐of‐the‐art ambulatory surgery center. The TCAVI ASC allows TCAVI physicians to offer convenient same‐day procedures for those who need surgical or diagnostic services with reduced timelines and recovery periods.

The Cardiac & Vascular Institute Ambulatory Surgery Center (TCAVI ASC) is a state‐of the‐art outpatient surgical facility committed to providing the highest quality health services to our patients. Our physicians are board certified in every aspect of cardiac and vascular care.

What happens after you set up your portal?

After setting up your portal account, you will receive another an e-mail confirming that the portal has been activated and shows your username. It includes a link to take you to the Portal home page.

How long after a physician sign off is a GEMMS report viewable?

When imaging/testing is signed off by a physician the report is then uploaded to the GEMMS chart. 10 days after the physician sign off date the report is viewable on the portal.

Can you request a refill on HVIW?

Labs and imaging not performed at HVIW will never be viewable on the HVIW portal. There is a “Medications” tab in the portal. Patients cannot request refills from this tab. They CAN send a message under the “Message” tab with a request for refill.

Do patients have to have their own email?

Each patient must have their own email to establish your portal. For example, husbands and wives who share an email will need to create a second email address if they both would like to have a patient portal account.

Once your appointment is scheduled

Have your primary care physician and/or your referring physician fax your records to (907)561-4652. If you have your records, please bring them to our office at least one week prior to your appointment so your physician can review them and prepare for your visit.

What do I need to bring to my upcoming cardiology appointment?

Answer: It is very important for you to bring your medication list and/or medication bottles with you to the appointment so that we have an accurate list within your medical record. If you have been seen by a previous cardiologist, had any testing done on your heart or any cardiac-related hospital visits in the past, it is very important that you bring those records with you if they were done outside of Orlando Health.

What can I expect when I arrive to check in for my appointment?

Answer: Please plan to arrive 10-15 minutes earlier than your scheduled appointment as you will be required to update contact and insurance information and sign consents for treatment. How can I make the most of my appointment?

Answer: Come with a prepared list of questions and concerns to discuss with your cardiologist. Utilize the communication tool to organize your thoughts and requests. Bring a notebook with you so that you can keep a record of the things that were discussed. This will allow you to reference it later after your appointment.

How do I reach a member of my personalized clinical care team?

Answer: MyChart is the quickest and easiest way to reach a member of your personalized clinical care team. This option is available for non-urgent questions and concerns, making it easy to send direct messages to the registered nurse and medical assistant. They will respond within 48 hours. How long does it take to get an appointment confirmation from Orlando Health?

The following form creates an appointment request only, not a confirmed appointment. Upon completion of this form, a representative will contact you within 48 hours to confirm your actual appointment's date and time. By submitting this form, you agree to receive health information through email from Orlando Health and its affiliates.*

What does a medical assistant do at a cardiologist?

This will include recording your weight, vital signs and a detailed review of your medications. We will also gather information related to family, social and surgical history as well as the reason for today’s visit. Depending on the reason for your visit, we may perform an EKG. Your cardiologist will be reviewing your responses before seeing you.
