Who is Dr Jill Sisselman?

Dr. Stephen Sisselman is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, and Dr. Jill Sisselman is Board Certified in Family Medicine. They care for patients ages 12 and up, and their care encompasses Adolescents and Women's Health as well. They provide the latest technology and compassionate care.

Where did Dr Sisselman go to college?

Dr. Stephen Sisselman received his undergraduate degree from Tufts University, in Massachusetts. He then attended Medical School at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. After finishing Internship at Massapequa General Hospital, he completed a Residency in Internal Medicine at Christiana Hospital, in Newark, Delaware.

Do I need to fast for blood work or for my Physical Exam (PE)?

If you are having a blood test in the morning than fasting is fine. If not, don’t worry, fasting is no longer required for most blood tests.

Is there a copay for a PE?

Most insurances do not charge a copay but there may be a copay or deductible applied to the testing we do with a PE such as EKG, PFT (spirometry) and hearing test. Check with your insurance carrier and let us know if you want those tests done with your PE.

What does a PE consist of?

A PE is a full examination and testing as above. Also, you may have blood drawn and a urine sample may be taken.

Can I fill out paperwork before my appointment?

When you schedule your visit, we will tell you when you should arrive and how you can prepare. In general, please plan on arriving 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time.

What Insurance plans do you accept?

The major plans we accept are Medicare, BlueCross/Blue Shield, United Healthcare, and Empire Plan (NYSHIP), most Emblem/GHI and HIP plans as well as HealthCare Partners. Cigna, Aetna, Oscar, Magnacare and Oxford are also accepted plans by the practice. There are others; please call our office for more info or check with your insurance carrier.

Will I be charged if I miss a scheduled appointment?

Our policy is that we charge a fee of $20 for missed appointments and those cancelled within 24 hours of appointment time. We understand that emergencies occur. If that is the case, please let us know and we will take that into consideration.

What do I do if I run out of medications?

Please call the office for refills or use patient portal to request refills. You may need an appointment for refills if your provider needs to see you first.
