Can you share patient information on MyChart with Baptist Health?

Please know that if you send us an e-mail communication, it may be shared with the Baptist Health staff that assists the physician in providing the patient’s medical care. A patient’s confidential medical information on MyChart will be accessible only to appropriate clinical staff.

How do I use the MyChart patient portal?

Use the MyChart patient portal to keep up-to-date with your health information, immunizations, allergies and medications. With MyChart, you also have access to request a prescription refill for a current medication, view your conditions and your plan for care, add/ remove medications and allergies.

Can I sign up for MyChart If I don't have after visit?

If you would like to sign up and don’t have an After Visit summary from your physician or a Baptist Health facility or an activation code, you can still sign up for MyChart. If you've been a Baptist Health patient, your MyChart account will connect to your medical record.

What is a health summary?

Your health summary gives you an immediate, concise, and well-organized summary of your key healthcare information including current health issues, medications, allergies and immunizations . Manage your child’s or another adult’s healthcare (Proxy Access)

How much does an e-visit cost?

You submit a questionnaire, medical records and a course of treatment and your provider will message you with next steps. An e-visit costs $35. It is a flat rate fee payable by credit card or Health Savings Account (HSA). If the provider determines that you need to schedule an in-person visit, your card will not be charged. The $35 fee does not include the cost of other services such as laboratory testing, prescription medications, or x-rays, if any are needed. Your provider will not refill medications, address chronic conditions, or prescribe controlled medications through an e-visit.

What is shared everywhere?

Share Everywhere will allow patients to grant access to their data to any providers who have internet access, even if they don’t have EHRs. In addition, using Share Everywhere, a provider granted access can send a progress note back to the patient’s healthcare organization for improved continuity of care.

Firewalls, passwords, encryption, and audit trails are further used to safeguard your information. We shall identify the records released and note the time and date of access each time a patient accesses MyChart. We have taken steps to make all information received from our online visitors as secure as possible against unauthorized access and use.

How old do you have to be to use MyChart?

Minor Eligibility - An individual must be age 18 or older to request a personal account. Parents or guardians of minor children may request access to the minor child's account by following the terms outlined in the "Proxy Access" section of this Terms and Conditions statement. Minor children between the ages of 12 and 17 (inclusive) will not be eligible to participate in the full spectrum of MyChart services. Under State and Federal law, there are certain types of medical information that the parent or guardian of a minor patient age 12 or older may not view without consent of the minor patient. Because of these requirements, we cannot offer the full spectrum of services to parents of minor patients in this age category. Thus, when a minor patient reaches age 12, restrictions will be placed on MyChart access until he/she reaches age 18.

What is SSL on MyChart?

For other than general information viewing, MyChart must be accessed with a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) compatible browser or terminal. Our SSL web server uses authentication and offers the highest level of encryption technology commercially available (128-bit RC4).

What is MyChart's role in maintaining the security of medical information?

As a MyChart user, your role in maintaining the security of your medical information is: 1) Changing your password on a regular basis, and 2) Keeping your login ID and password confidential. MyChart Username. Password.

How to tell if a Baptist Health server is secure?

You can tell when you are secure by looking at the location (URL) field. If the URL begins with https:// (instead of http://), the document comes from a secure server. This means your data cannot be read or deciphered by unauthorized individuals. You can tell whether you are truly connected to Baptist Health by viewing the digital certificate. This certificate verifies the connection between the Baptist Health server's public key and the server's identification.

How long does it take for Baptist Health to respond to an electronic inquiry?

In some cases, the clinic staff that needs to respond to an electronic inquiry or other communication may not be immediately available so a patient should allow at least three (3) business days for a response. Accordingly, emergency situations requiring immediate attention should not be submitted electronically.

My Health Rec is a great way to view, download and transmit your up-to-date health information, all from the convenience and privacy of your own home, or anywhere Internet access is available — 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We recently added opportunities for additional documents you can see online, such as pathology reports, discharge summaries and progress/procedure notes.
