What is a tavr valve?

The TAVR procedure enables the placement of a balloon expandable aortic heart valve into the body via the catheter-based transfemoral delivery system. The TAVR procedure is designed to provide an alternative treatment to patients in whom the traditional open-heart surgery can not be performed.

Why do my legs feel like they have a vein?

What is a TAVR?

Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) is a procedure for select patients with severe symptomatic aortic stenosis (narrowing of the aortic valve opening) who are not candidates for traditional open chest surgery or are high-risk operable candidates.

How long does it take to get a pacemaker surgery?

Pacemaker surgery is usually done in a hospital. The surgery takes just a few hours, but you will stay in the hospital overnight so your doctor can monitor your heart rhythm and make sure your pacemaker is working properly. Problems from pacemaker surgery are rare.

What causes plaque build up in the walls of the arteries?

In atherosclerosis or hardening of the arteries, plaque builds up in the walls of your arteries as you age. Cholesterol, calcium, and fibrous tissue make up the plaque. As more plaque accumulates, your arteries can narrow and stiffen. Eventually, enough plaque may build up to reduce blood flow through your arteries, or cause blood clots or pieces of plaque to break free and to block the arteries in the brain beyond the plaque.

How long does it take to get a prescription refill?

Routine prescriptions are filled within 24-48 hours of request by either the patient or pharmacy. Medications will not be refilled after-hours, on weekends, or on holidays. Please plan ahead before you run out of your medication.

How long does it take to get a referral from insurance?

Since most primary care offices and insurance carriers cannot process a referral in less than 7-14 days, please contact your insurance carrier/primary care office well in advance of your appointment date here.

How long does it take to get results from heart and vascular center of Arizona?

If you do not hear from the office by phone or by mail within 14-21 days following your testing, please contact the office regarding your results.

How to get a copy of medical records?

To request a copy of your medical records, please complete our medical release form, listed below. To request records from your primary care doctor or another specialist, please download and complete the form below.

What time do you call the hospital for medical questions?

If you have a medical question, please feel free to call the office with non-emergency calls between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. when your records are readily available. Our nurses and staff are specially trained to answer your questions and pass information between you and your physician. We will make every attempt to return your call by the end of the day.

Heart & Vascular Center of Arizona is contracted with most insurance plans. For proper claims processing, we will require a current copy of your insurance card at the time of the visit, and your insurance benefits will be verified by our office staff. Please note that once we have billed your insurance, a diagnosis cannot be changed.
