We also encourage all new patients to BCH to always check with their insurance provider before scheduling an appointment with any of our physicians or services.
When will Epic EHR portal be available?
and much more! The Epic EHR and MyBCH portal are live as of Oct. 1, 2019. All patients will have to register for the new portal, but the signup process will be quick and easy. If you used the previous BCH portals, you must register as a New User in order to set up an account in this new version of MyBCH.
Does BCH use Epic?
Previously, BCH used separate EHR systems for hospital services and our physician clinics. While both systems were secure and served their purpose well, the Epic platform improves the care experience across our entire system by providing a single, comprehensive health record for each patient.
Is Epic a patient portal?
Moving to Epic also has also allowed BCH to provide our patients with a single, easy-to-use patient portal called MyBCH. Whether a patient is seen by a physician in one of our medical clinics or has a test at Foothills Hospital, all of that health information will be in one secure, convenient and user-friendly location — available through a patient’s computer, tablet or smartphone.
What is my child's portal?
Messaging on the MyChildren’s portal is a secure, web-based service that allows you to send non-urgent questions to your care team at Boston Children’s Hospital.
How to contact MyChildrens?
For help with the portal, you can fill out our support form at mychildrens.org/help or call the MyChildren’s Support Team at 617-919-4396 Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
How to update insurance information?
To update your insurance information, go to Billing and select Insurance Summary. Please note that we will review all insurance changes.
How long before a doctor visits you can confirm?
Yes, you can confirm visits up to 30 days prior to your visit.
What is a mychild?
MyChildren’s is a convenient, easy-to-use, and secure way to access your child’s health information. Using MyChildren’s, you can: view portions of your child’s health record. send secure messages to your care team. view and update your contact information. view and pay your bills online.
When can parents access their child's information?
Parents will no longer have access to their child’s information once the patient turns 18. The patient cannot grant access to a parent to restore access. My child with special needs is over the age of 18.
When are diagnostic tests available?
Diagnostic test reports are available as soon as they are resulted.
How to contact BCH billing specialists?
BCH billing specialists will contact the specific clinic or facility where you received services to request a review of charges. We will then contact you with that information.

How to dispute a BCH bill?
If you want to dispute a charge, please follow the process below: For BCH Physician Clinic bills, please call 303-415-4766 and ask to speak to a manager. Where is Foothills Hospital Emergency Department?
Emergency Department charges are based on the level of emergency care provided to our patients at either our Foothills Hospital Emergency Department in Boulder or the Emergency Department at our Community Medical Center in Lafayette .
Does BCH accept insurance?
BCH accepts most major insurance plans but you will avoid surprises by checking your individual coverage with your employer or insurance company.
