Where is the imaging department located at Winter Haven Hospital?

The Winter Haven Hospital imaging department is located in the Swann Basement of the hospital campus. To find us, park in the patient parking lot and enter through the main entrance. A patient shuttle is usually available to assist you to the main door. You will be directed first to Patient Access for registration and then to Imaging Services.

What is a CT scan?

A computerized tomography scan, or CT Scan as it is more commonly known, is a diagnostic test that allows the physician to see pictures of structures in the body that may not be able to be seen by conventional x-rays. Some CT Scans require certain “prep.” If you are unsure whether the CT scan your physician has ordered for you requires certain preparation, please contact your physician’s office directly.#N#The CT Scans are completely in the radiology department on the main campus, 500 E. Our imaging department is accredited by The Joint Commission, and we also carry additional imaging related accreditations with the American College of Radiology and we are accredited with the American College of Radiology, which means we regularly go through a vigorous review process to ensure we meet nationally accepted standards of care. Our imaging technologists are well qualified through education and certification to administer imaging procedures. And, our radiologists are board certified and have met the high standards established by the American College of Radiology.
