La Plata Physical Medicine specializes in the diagnosis and non-surgical treatment of spine, muscle, nerve, and joint problems. Their goal is to provide the highest quality, evidence-based care for acute or chronic problems resulting from sports, accidents, work injuries and age-related problems. Board-certified physiatrist Robert Wallach, DO, believes that the key to successful treatment involves patient education and participation, and a team approach with physical and occupational therapists, coaches, and other physicians as needed. Animas Urgent Care opened in 2014 across the river from Animas Surgical Hospital and provides fast, convenient care for minor injuries and illnesses. Occupational medicine is also housed in the urgent care facility.
Can you visit Durango Hospital with a fever?
We ask that our visitors be aware of their own medical conditions when visiting our Durango hospital. Visitors who have a fever, symptoms of colds, flu or any type of communicable disease should not visit the hospital until they are well.
Is Animas a smoke free hospital?
Animas Surgical Hospital is a smoke-free facility and strictly adheres to the Colorado Clean Air Act. As a healthcare institution, we recognize the hazards of smoking and enforce a no-smoking policy throughout our facility. We do not permit smoking inside or near any hospital entrances. For your health and the health of others, smoking is only permitted outside of this Durango hospital in designated smoking areas.
